ROAR! ROAR! ROAR!

This week, we are featuring the king of the jungle with books about lions. We have several favorite literary lions, including Aslan from the Chronicles of Narnia series. My elementary students are reading through the series for literature class, so I thought I would put together a list of favorite lion books for younger kids.

If you have any suggestions for us, please let me know in the comments!

Happy Reading!

Our favorite lion books for kids

  • The Lion & the Mouse
  • Library Lion
  • Andy and the Lion (Picture Puffins)
  • The Happy Lion
  • The Lion’s Paw (Little Golden Book)
  • Tawny Scrawny Lion (Little Golden Book)
  • Dandelion (Picture Puffins)
  • Lafcadio, The Lion Who Shot Back

I remember reading Andy the Lion!

Bill Peet also has a lion story, “Eli.”
