Tranquility: A Prayer and Reflection Coloring Journal

Creativity through journaling, coloring, and drawing when combined with time in God’s Word not only helps to deepen your faith, but it also brings calmness and ‘centeredness’ to your days. Tranquility: A Prayer and Reflection Coloring Journal from Tyndale House Publishers is a beautiful tool to get you started with creative Bible study. This journal is really unique and gorgeous. It contains prayers, Scripture verses, journaling prompts, and coloring designs in a vibrant, whimsical format. There are also quotes from spiritual leaders like Max Lucado, Billy Graham, and Pope Francis.

The theme of Tranquility is taking things slow, spending quiet time in prayer, and experiencing tranquility. This book goes beyond being a coloring book with thought provoking questions and plenty of space for thoughtful responses–it is as much a writing journal as it is a coloring journal.

“Receive the Gift–Make a list of people and blessings that bring you feelings of contentment and satisfaction. Take time to thank God for them.” “I am leaving you with a gift–peace of mind and heart. -John 14:27” (p. 24-25)

Each page is undated, so as a devotional, you can do the pages in any order you’d like. The designs are intricate and take awhile to do. The paper is substantial, but best suited for colored pencils and not pens. The designs include animals, nature scenes, and household objects like clocks and teapots. My favorite thing about the design of this journal is the different fonts and styles of each page. It reminds me of a scrapbook in a way, only this will become a prayer life memory keeper.

The publisher provided a review copy of Tranquility.
