The Best Boredom Busting Road Trip Books for Kids

If you’ve ever experienced travel with kids, then you know how helpful it is to have some activities for them to do while passing the time. I spent my childhood traveling all over the country, and my mom always had a special ‘travel bag’ for me and my brother. We looked forward to pulling out something new to keep us entertained, and I’m sure having us occupied kept Mom and Dad sane. For my own kids, activity books and audio books are my go-to travel bag essentials.
Check out this post for tips on how to survive a road trip with kids!
I’m sharing my favorite activity books and audio books for keeping kids happy on your next road trip. If you have any favorites that I’ve missed, please let me know in the comments.
Happy travels!

Audio books are definitely a must for travel with kiddos!
Great book choices for summer!
Thanks so much!
Love this list! Anything classic like Little House on the Prairie is always a winner in my book 🙂 I still have all of my Nancy Drew mysteries from childhood!
Oh, Nancy Drew was one of my favorites as a kid. I think I read them all! 🙂
