Inspiralize Everything: An Apples-to-Zucchini Encyclopedia of Spiralizing by Ali Maffucci is a comprehensive primer for all things spiralized.
My junior chef first started spiralizing after trying it in a cooking class he attended. He has made a few salads with his spiralizer–and he was ready for some new ideas and inspiration. Enter Inspiralize Everything. Now, his repertoire has grown to include more than just basic spiralized fare.
Ali Maffucci explains how her way of eating changed when she discovered how to” inspiralize,” and how the discovery of this way of eating improved her quality of life. You can really see her passion for this technique in her recipes. She obviously put a lot of time into perfecting each selection to make the recipes easy to follow, varied, and delicious.
Inspiralize Everything is arranged like an encyclopedia, beginning with recipes using apples and proceeding through veggies like beets, broccoli, cabbage, and carrots. And even more unusual choices like celeriac, chayote, jicama, and kholrabi.
Features I especially appreciate in Inspiralize Everything include:
- the nutrition information with every recipe, the color full-page photos of the meal
- the substitution ideas (especially helpful when our grocery store has limited selections, or when you have a CSA basket of unique seasonal ingredients)
- the organization of the chapters that makes it easy to look up ideas using particular items we have on hand.
Through interesting blends of seasonings, Maffucci teaches twists on traditional favorites that are truly “inspiring.”
