Dear Homeschool Mama,

August 27, 2013 by Anne Campbell Leave a Comment

Dear Homeschool Mama,

From the day I decided to homeschool, you have been there as a supportive friend, an experienced adviser, a cohort, a prayer partner, and an encouraging voice. When I had no clue how to start down this path, you assured me that I could do it. You helped me by suggesting which curriculum catalogs to order and how to get my paperwork in order. You invited me and my kids to a park day and introduced us to other families. When I struggled with teaching math and phonics, you gave me tips and shared things that worked for you, as well as explaining what didn’t work. You gave me permission to take control of the curriculum and make it work for me, rather than being a slave to it.

You meet us for field trips, picnics, and classes. You share resources and loaned books. Even when we have differences of opinion, you respect my choices, and rather than trying to knock me down, you don’t judge. You cheere me on. You meet for mom’s nights out, once in a while, just to laugh and talk and hang out. You celebrate our successes. You cry with me. You assure me that it will all work out. You pray for me and my family.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart for motivating me, for inspiring me, and for encouraging me to continue this journey. I couldn’t do it without you!

Your Homeschool Sister,

Anne
