After a visit to our local dairy farm, my kids couldn’t wait to dive into some of our favorite cow books for kids to continue learning about these beautiful gentle giants.
Some of our favorite authors have written cow books, and no library could be complete without Ferdinand. Ree Drummond’s real life experience rescuing a frozen baby calf was documented on her blog before she wrote about Charlie’s adventures with this baby, and I couldn’t wait to add this beautifully illustrated book to our shelves.
Click, Clack, Moo is so much fun to read aloud, and my boys roll with laughter over the antics of Farmer Brown’s crew. If your kids are interested in how milk gets from cow to carton, don’t miss our favorites from Gail Gibbons and Aliki.
Use these books for fun story time or to enhance a unit study or field trip to the farm.
