Awesome Science: Dinosaur Monument

March 23, 2015 by Anne Campbell Leave a Comment

The Moms of Master Books team has been learning about dinosaurs while exploring geology, history, and biblical truths this month with Awesome Science. My kids and I own several of the Awesome Science DVDs, which we use as part of our science and biblical history studies. The newest addition to this series is all about dinosaur fossils.

Explore Dinosaur National Monument with Noah Justice

Park signs present history from a naturalistic perspective at Dinosaur National Monument.

The Explore Dinosaur National Monument video presents the biblical worldview, and host Noah asks viewers to decide which view they believe.

Noah takes viewers on a tour of the monument, including dinosaur fossils in the sedimentary layers and petroglyphs left behind by the Fremont people. My kids enjoy this virtual field trip, and I appreciate revisiting this park that my family vacationed to when I was a kid.

Being presented with a side-by-side comparison of evolutionary and creationist views is a wonderful way to get viewers thinking, and it gives my kids and I lots of prompting for discussion and further research. The Awesome Science crew guides viewers through this virtual field trip, touching on topics like the Law of Thermodynamics, dinosaur extinction, the global flood, ancient cultures, and more. Fun bonus features include a blooper reel, which my kids especially enjoy.

Explore Dinosaur National Monument is a fun resource to supplement our homeschool curriculum, as well as an entertaining virtual field trip for my dinosaur-loving boys. Check it out below!

Check out what the rest of the Moms of Master Books reviewers think about Explore Dinosaur National Monument.
