You Are Not Alone: Encouragement for the Heart of a Military Spouse

February 18, 2016 by Anne Campbell 2 Comments

Encouragement for the Military Spouse

If you’re a military spouse or family member, Jen McDonald’s new book will bring you immense comfort and encouragement.

You Are Not Alone: Encouragement for the Heart of a Military Spouse is a collection of thirty days of readings that get right to the heart of the struggles and hard times that come with military life on the home front. The hope and understanding of someone who has been there are invaluable to both the newbie and veteran military spouse.

Jen truly has a heart for the military spouse, and it shines through in her reflections in her book. As a military brat and later a military wife, I can relate to the feelings of bewilderment and remoteness military life brings. This book is like sitting down with an experienced and caring friend.

You Are Not Alone: Encouragement for the Heart of a Military Spouse will “encourage, strengthen, and uplift military spouses in the unique challenges they face. Whether it’s a deployment, move, or raising military kids, find real-life solutions and inspiration from someone who’s been there. In the words of Cindy, Marine Corps spouse: ‘Reading You Are Not Alone: Encouragement for the Heart of a Military Spouse touched me in a way few books do. As I read page after page, I kept thinking, “Oh my goodness, she is living my life!” or “Yes! That is EXACTLY how I felt!” There is a kinship that military spouses have, and reading this book of encouragement brought that home for me. ‘”

Wish I had this when I was a military spouse…and kid. It was always nice to know that other Moms were in the same boat and we could rely on each other. It’s a tough life but very rewarding.
