2012-2013 Schoolroom: Big Boy Desks

January 8, 2013 by Anne Campbell Leave a Comment

I’m finally getting around to finishing our schoolroom tour.

Just to keep things real: these photos were taken before son #2 started working on a stop-motion animation film and son #1 started putting together his literature group portfolio.

In reality, the first desk is covered with stacks and scraps of paper, and the second desk is surrounded by chairs with lights clamped on them and legos EVERYWHERE. Legos are also all over the floor, and have you ever stepped on one in the dark? Not fun.

Anyway, the biggest change in our schoolroom this year is that each of the boys has his own desk. We still have our big table in the middle of the room, but the older guys really needed a place of their own to study, draw, plan, and create. We pulled two of the chairs over from the table, so we can use them back and forth without adding more furniture to the room. The desks fit just perfectly under the sloped ceiling, with just enough room for bulletin boards.
