Learning About George Washington

Just in time for President’s Day, we are pulling out our favorite president books. This week is all about our first president. As we’ve been reading about President Washington, we’ve learned some interesting and intriguing things about him, most notably how some of the myths about him got started. If you’d like to learn more about the cherry tree legend, click here to read an article we found that covers it very well–if you’ve used McGuffey’s readers in your homeschool, you’ll be interested in how they contributed to the cherry tree myth.
